Product Swap!

It's time for another Product Swap, hosted by Jessica Stanford of Mrs. Stanford's Class!

I was so excited when I got my swap partner this time around - it's Stephanie from Falling Into First!

She is seriously so sweet and has some of the cutest art projects in her store! I ended up not doing an art project for my swap product, though, I chose one that we would get to do throughout the entire year - A Classroom Timeline!

Hawaii has a 2nd grade social studies standard about timelines, so this product was perfect for me!  Stephanie includes 10 different color options for your timeline, so you can choose which one matches your classroom decor the best.  I chose blue.

In addition to the classroom timeline, there are printables for students to make their own timeline, too. She gives directions for how to tape the pages together so they fold out, accordion style.  I decided to staple the pages together in a packet for now.  Then at the end of the year, when the pages are all filled out, we will tape them together and assemble the timeline correctly.

My school emphasizes interactive writing in grades K-2, so I used that technique when doing our classroom timeline.  The kids came up with the ideas and we talked about punctuation and spelling as a student wrote the message on the page.  After the page was completed, I taped it to the wall with blue painter's tape.  I had another student illustrate the message, then I taped that one up as well.

I can't wait to continue this project each month, and reminisce on all the fun things we have done together as a class.  Thank you to Stephanie for creating such an important product!
