iPod Cover Winner and My To-Do List

First up, my winner!  Susanna Westby from Whimsy Workshop!  Congrats!  I'll send you an email and get those covers to you ASAP!

Today I went into my classroom for the first time this summer.  It was clean, but of course the custodial staff put absolutely everything in the wrong place.  Ugh.  It's fine, though, because 1) I need the workout and 2) it gives me the opportunity to change things up.  I'm famous for re-arranging my classroom throughout the year.  I just like to try new arrangements and I get sick of things being the same.  Call me adventurous.  Well, against my better judgement (because I like to hoard school supplies) I decided to make more space for other, more important things, and get rid of my clunky teacher desk.  It was a smaller one to begin with, but I found that I really don't sit at it and it was in the way.  So, I bought a $30 computer desk to store my teacher computer and printer.  Here it is on Instagram after putting it together!

Bye bye desk!

I'll be back with more pics from my room as this process unfolds.  I'm hoping to have the bulk of my list done by next week.  Here is the rest of my to-do list:

What is on your to-do list?  Is yours as long as mine?

  3. I'd love to see your room with no desk once you have it all together? We have a document camera that I can plug into with my computer. I've ended up stationing my table in the middle of the room, just for ease of use! I don't have a desk, just a table, but it might as well be a desk! Oh . . . I got my kiddos who had to miss recesses (for bad behavior) at the end of last year to sharpen all my pencils for this year! I try to prepare as much as I can at the end of the previous year!

  4. I love your new little desk from Amazon. I've had the same thoughts too. Get rid of the desk! I'm so scared though... :) Who knows. Meet the teacher night is July 30th so maybe I'll have my mind made up.

  5. I almost got rid of my desk yesterday...then at the last minute, I chickened out before the custodian took it out! haha! I'd love to see pictures once you get it set up!

Maybe a small one would be a good compromise. :)
